Hey! Look! A contest! Enter to win a trip to Salem, MA.
Dear Faithful Readers,
I set my novels, The Lace Reader and The Map of True Places, in Salem, MA because it is my hometown, one of the places on earth that I know best. As a small city, Salem is rich in history — it has lived through prosperity as a shipping town, through notoriety as the epicenter of witch hunts, and it still enjoys a literary burnish as home to Nathaniel Hawthorne and others.
Now, I invite you to enter The Map of True Places sweepstakes for your chance to win a trip to visit my city. Destination Salem and William Morrow are sponsoring the sweepstakes, and many local shops, restaurants, and museums have stepped forward to build a fun and interesting weekend for you in my town!
So enter the sweepstakes today — and please tell your friends they can enter, too. I hope to see you soon in Salem! In the meantime, head over to my website to download excerpts from The Map of True Places.
Best of luck,
Brunonia Barry

Any visit to Salem is a great visit! Hope you can put in a good word to your publisher to put out a Large Print edition in conjunction with the regular edition for low vision readers to read right away. Thank you.

I would enter… but I already live in Swampscott! Salem is a great place to visit (or live) and I’m sure the winner will have a fabulous time.
Also, I got an uncorrected proof of The Map of True Places at the ALA conference in Boston in January and I just wanted to tell you how much I loved it. I loved it for all the same reasons I loved The Lace Reader… and it’s always fun to see your little town and that bar where your entire high school class seems to congregate every night mentioned in a book! I can’t wait for the next one!

Brunonia & Gary,
Thank you for helping make this weekend such a wonderful and memorable event for Jen and I. We didn’t want to leave.
We truly appreciate the tour and your hospitality. It was a pleasure meeting you both and we had such a fun and wonderful time seeing all that you showed us, (and the stuff we had to imagine for ourselves) lol. I wanted to let you know all the drive-by snapshots turned out great.
Thanks again for everything guys. It was awesome.
Good luck to all who entered the new contest, the winner is in for a real treat.
Nate
