I thought The Map of True Places was well-written and enjoyable to read. I liked the “hero” and his attempt to learn navigation by the stars. Surely you are familiar with the Pacific Voyaging Society and the sailings of the Hokaulea? If not, there are some exciting stories on line, especially about their sail to Rapa Nui.
